The Stockbridge Sinfonia is always interested in meeting players eager to join the group, though our needs vary with programming and the current orchestra roster. At this time, we are especially interested in recruiting brass, oboe, cello, and contrabass players.

The Stockbridge Sinfonia celebrated its 50th season in 2022 — a milestone for a community orchestra that combines accomplished student musicians as well as professional and amateur adults players. We hope you'll contact us about joining as a member, a volunteer, and a supporter.

We do not require auditions, but we expect a certain level of ability when you join us. We have selected excerpts from our summer repertoire for you to play through. Please use these excerpts as an assessment to judge your ability to perform with us.

We are devoting two Saturdays in May 2024 — see below — to read through fun pieces, offer people a chance to get to know us better, determine ability to perform at our level, and to think about joining us for the rest of the season. Please join us!
